The Truth About Defilement
"The Father has washed, cleaned and restored me"
1. My Father desires to restore me.
*Nah 2:2 For the LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like the splendor of Israel , even though devastators have devastated them and destroyed their vine branches.
*Isa 42:16 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.
* 1 Peter 5:10-11 And the God of all grace…will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
2. Nothing that has happened is beyond the restoration of my Father.
*Isaiah 63:9 In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
*Psalm 23:1-3 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
3. My Father can repair the damage that has been done.
*Hosea 14:5-7 I will be like the dew to Israel ; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots; his young shoots will grow. His splendor will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon. Men will dwell again in his shade. He will flourish like the grain. He will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon .
*Jeremiah 30:17 'For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,' declares the LORD , 'Because they have called you an outcast, saying: "It is Zion ; no one cares for her."
4. My Father is the God of fresh starts and renewal.
*Lamentations 3:22,23 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
*Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
5. I have been made totally clean.
*Psalm 51:7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
*Isaiah 61:10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her.
*Ezekiel 36:25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.
*John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
6. My Father has forgiven me and forgotten my sin.
*Jeremiah 31:34 …"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
*Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
7. I am chosen, treasured and loved.
*Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved…
*Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.
*Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.
*John 15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
