The Truth About Rejection
"I am accepted by my Father."
1. I am chosen, treasured, and loved.
*John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I choose you…
*Colossians 3:12-13 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
*Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.
*Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says--he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine."
2. I belong to the Father.
*1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
3. I am a child of the Father.
*John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
4. I am Christ's friend.
*John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
5. I am a member of Christ's family.
*1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
6. The Father loves me so much that He adopted me.
*Ephesians 1:4-7 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
7. My Father is always for me, never against me.
*Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
8. My Father will never forget me. I have always been loved by Him.
*Isaiah 49:15-16 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
*Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
9. Troubles do not separate me from the Father's love.
*Romans 8:35,39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?...nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
