The Truth About Shame

"I am covered with Christ"

1. My father has forgiven me and has forgotten my sin.
*1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

*Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he who blots out your transgression, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

2. I am totally covered .
*Galatians 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

*Psalm 85:2 You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins.

*Isaiah 61:10 I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness.

3. I am free from condemnation.
*Romans 8:1,2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the saw of sin and death.

4. I am enough. I am absolutely complete in Christ.
*Colossians 2:9,10 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

5. Jesus is not ashamed of me.
*Hebrews 2:11 Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.

6. The Father's thoughts towards me are always good and filled with hope for me.
*Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

*2 Tim 1:8-10 Our Lord… has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.

*1 John 3:1-2 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

7. I have been made holy though Christ.
*Colossians 1:22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.

*2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be made sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

8. He sees me as beautiful, handsome, and pleasant in His eyes.
*Psalm 139:13,14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully make; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

9. I am deeply loved by God.
*Ephesians 2:4-6 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

10. Nothing can separate me from God's love.
*Romans 8:38 ,39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
