THE TRUTH ABOUT INSECURITY
"I'm safe in the arms of my Father"

  1. I am surrounded by my Father.

*Psalm 125:2 Just as Jerusalem is protected by mountains on every side, the Lord protects his people by holding them in his arms now and forever.

  2. My Father holds me tenderly close to him.

*Isaiah 40:11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers them close to his heart.

3. I am tucked away and safe.

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

4. I am hidden in my Father.

*Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

*Colossians 3:3 For you died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

*Psalm 27:5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

5. I am encompassed by my Father's love.

*Psalm 32:10 …The Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.

6. My Father is with me regardless of what is happening around me.

*Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

7. My Father is continually available to help me.

*Hebrews 13:6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to Me?”

8. My Father is with me and will never leave me.

*Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

9. My Father is in control of my life.

*Psalm 31:14,15 But I trust in you O LORD; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands.

10. My Father has given me a place of security to stand in.

*Psalm 40:2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and the mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

11. His Fatherly eyes watch over me and His loving heart has already planned help for me.

*1Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you .

THE TRUTH ABOUT FEAR
"I am not alone. The father is with me."

  1. My Father is always with me. He will never leave me.

*Mt 28:20 “…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

*Ex 33:14 The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

*Isa 43:2 "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you.”

  2. My Father wants to hold and comfort me when I'm afraid.

*Isa 66:12-13 For thus says the LORD, "Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees. As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you will be comforted in Jerusalem ."

3. My Father is lovingly and faithfully watching over me.

Ps 121:3,4,7,8 He will not let your foot slip--he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD will watch over your life. The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.  

4. My Father has confidence in me. (He provides all that I need in every situation.)

*Php 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

5. The Father is always present to help me.

* Ps 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

*Isa 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

*Isa 50:9 It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me. Who is he that will condemn me? They will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up.

*Heb 13:6 So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

6. I can rest in the strong and capable arms of my Father.

*Dt 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, “'Destroy him!”

*Isa 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

7. My Father is always there for me. He wants me to trust Him.

*Jn 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”

*Ro 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

*Ps 13:5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.

*Ps 56:3-4 When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

*Pr 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

THE TRUTH ABOUT REJECTION
"I am accepted by my father"

1. I am chosen, treasured, and loved.

*John 15:16 You did not choose me, but I choose you…

*Colossians 3:12-13 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

*Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

*Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says--he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”

2. I belong to the Father.

*1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

3. I am a child of the Father.

*John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

  4. I am Christ's friend.

*John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

5. I am a member of Christ's family.

*1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

6. The Father loves me so much that He adopted me.

*Ephesians 1:4-7 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

  7. My Father is always for me, never against me.

*Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

8. My Father will never forget me. I have always been loved by Him.

*Isaiah 49:15-16 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

*Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

9. Troubles do not separate me from the Father's love.

*Romans 8:35,39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?...nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

THE TRUTH ABOUT WORTHLESSNESS
"The Father approves of me"

  1. I am handmade.

*Ps 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

2. I am important and valuable.

*John 15:15-17 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit…

*Deut 32:10 10 In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye.

*Eph 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

4. I am precious and honored in the eyes of my Father.

*Isa 43:4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you…

*Isa 49:5 …for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength

5. My life has a purpose.

*2 Cor 5:19-21 And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors…

6. I am a unique creation of the Father. In all the world there's no one else like me.

*Ps 119:73 Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.

7. I am loved and treasured by the Creator of the universe.

*Jer 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

8. The Father loves me completely, thoroughly, and perfectly. There's nothing I can do to add or detract from that love.

*Isa 54:10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, "says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

*2 Tim 1:8-10 Our Lord… has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

*1 John 3:1-2 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

9. The Father celebrates my life! He delights in me.

*Zeph 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

*Isa 62:5 5 … as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

*Ps 18:19 He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

10. My Father loves me just as much as He loves his son, Jesus.

*John 17:23 May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me .

11. I have the Father's “stamp of approval”.

*John 6:27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DEFILEMENT
  "The Father has washed, cleaned and restored me"

1. My Father desires to restore me.

*Nah 2:2 For the LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like the splendor of Israel , even though devastators have devastated them and destroyed their vine branches.

*Isa 42:16 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.

* 1 Peter 5:10-11 And the God of all grace…will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

2. Nothing that has happened is beyond the restoration of my Father.

*Isaiah 63:9 In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

*Psalm 23:1-3 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.

3. My Father can repair the damage that has been done.

*Hosea 14:5-7 I will be like the dew to Israel ; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots; his young shoots will grow. His splendor will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon. Men will dwell again in his shade. He will flourish like the grain. He will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon .

*Jeremiah 30:17 'For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,' declares the LORD , 'Because they have called you an outcast, saying: "It is Zion ; no one cares for her."'

4. My Father is the God of fresh starts and renewal.

*Lamentations 3:22,23 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

*Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.

5. I have been made totally clean.

*Psalm 51:7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

*Isaiah 61:10 "Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her.

*Ezekiel 36:25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.

*John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

6. My Father has forgiven me and forgotten my sin.

*Jeremiah 31:34 …"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

*Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

7. I am chosen, treasured and loved.

THE TRUTH ABOUT HOPELESSNESS
"The Father has given me a living hope through Jesus"

1. The Father is trustworthy in times of difficulty.

*Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

*Isaiah 50:10 Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.

*Psalm 42:11Why are you downcast , O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

2. God is always faithful, even when I'm not.

* Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

*1 Corinthians 1:9 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

*Psalm 36:5 Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

3. My Father is greater than my troubles.

*John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

4. My Father's loving heart has planned help for me.

*Isaiah 58:11 The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

*Isaiah 41:13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.

5. The Father makes a way for me through depression.

*Psalm 18:28 You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.

*2 Corinthians 7:6 But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us.

6. The Father is pouring out fresh mercy for me today.

*Lamentations 3:21-24 This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him."

*Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

7. My Father's thoughts toward me are always good and filled with hope for me.

*Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

8. I can do all things in Christ.

*Philippians 4:16 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

9. My Father is walking before me, preparing my way.

*Isaiah 43:18,19 "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

10. The Father gives me His comfort and encouragement.

*Isaiah 61:2,3 … to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion-to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

*2 Thessalonians 2:16,17 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

*2 Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SHAME
"I am covered with Christ"

  1. MY FATHER HAS FORGIVEN ME AND HAS FORGOTTEN MY SIN.

*1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

*Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he who blots out your transgression, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

  2. I AM TOTALLY COVERED.

*Galatians 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

*Psalm 85:2 You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins.

*Isaiah 61:10 I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness.

3. I AM FREE FOREVER FROM CONDEMNATION.

*Romans 8:1,2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the saw of sin and death.

4. I AM ENOUGH. I AM ABSOLUTELY COMPLETE IN CHRIST.

*Colossians 2:9,10 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

5. JESUS IS NOT ASHAMED OF ME.

*Hebrews 2:11 Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.

6. THE FATHER'S THOUGHTS TOWARD ME ARE ALWAYS GOOD AND FILLED WITH HOPE FOR ME.

*Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

7. I HAVE BEEN MADE HOLY THROUGH CHRIST.

*Colossians 1:22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.

*2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be made sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

8. HE SEES ME AS BEAUTIFUL, HANDSOME, AND PLEASANT IN HIS EYES.

*Psalm 139:13,14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully make; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

9. I AM DEEPLY LOVED BY GOD.

*Ephesians 2:4-6 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

10. NOTHING CAN SEPARATE ME FROM GOD'S LOVE.

*Romans 8:38 ,39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
